Cytech Scotland delivery in full swing providing skills and training to the market

Posted on in Cycles News

Cytech WorkshopGlasgow-based cycling charity Bike for Good, which is responsible for delivering the internationally renowned Cytech training and accreditation scheme for bicycle technicians and enthusiasts in Scotland, is crowdfunding to support the next stage of its development.

Since it launched the training towards the end of October last year, 48 candidates have already passed through Cytech Scotland’s doors, with a further 55 getting ready to start, collectively delivering essential skills and training to the market.

Cytech, which was created for the UK cycle industry by the Association of Cycle Traders (ACT) over 35 years ago, has already delivered more than 22,000 technical training courses to, among others, staff working for some of the world's leading bicycle distributors. The courses encompass the basics of cycle mechanics right through to dealing with the most advanced and high-tech components, parts and e-bikes.

The training – and your support for their crowdfunding initiative – will help further bring to fruition Bike For Good’s vision to create a healthy and inclusive environment where everyone in the community benefits from more people cycling. Thanks to Cytech, their team of trainers are equipped with the most relevant knowledge and tools to offer the highest standard of cycle technician training in Scotland.

Bike For Good has two thriving Community Hubs in Glasgow and an amazing team of 46 staff members and more than 50 volunteers who are changing thousands of lives through cycling.

“Through our partnership with Cytech and the ACT, we are already showing how teaching quality mechanical skills to our communities helps us to achieve our vision of a healthy and inclusive environment where everyone in the community benefits from more people cycling. Support for our crowdfunding initiative will help us take that significantly further,” says Gregory Kinsman-Chauvet, Founder and Cycling Enthusiast Officer (CEO) at Bike for Good.
