Job Description
The Bikeshed Brighton are looking to expand our team and take a bicycle mechanic apprentice under our wing.
As a Bike Mechanic Apprentice in our workshop, you’ll be learning how to repair and maintain bikes to help our customers to get back in the saddle. To put it simply, the purpose of your role is to learn how to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical problems whilst ensuring that our customers receive the best experience in the process.
We will be teaming up with a training provider called Activate Cycle Academy. This popular apprenticeship program is recommended for those new to the cycle trade, someone looking for a change in career, or for existing bike mechanics who wish to secure formal training and additional qualifications.

This will be a full-time role working 37.5 hours a week.
20 days annual leave plus bank holidays
18-month apprenticeship contract with the opportunity to be employed as a full-time mechanic or workshop manager after.
First-year will be on the apprentice rate of £4.15 an hour and minimum wage according to your age thereafter.

Skills/Experience Required
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: To be employed in a suitable position within the Cycle Industry and to have achieved a minimum Level 1 GCSE in FS Maths and English or to have completed FS IA at Entry 3. Learners will be required to work towards Level 2 FS in Maths and English and must achieve at least a Level 1 to complete the Standard.
