Job Description

Bike Switzerland is a bicycle tour company, but we also have a small shop where we do sales, servicing and rentals of road bikes.

This position will require a flexible person who is comfortable with menial tasks such as cleaning bikes and sorting equipment, as well as more demanding work building up and servicing premium road bikes.

We're looking for a mechanic with at least 2 years of sales and service experience. Although you'll spend most of your time in the workshop, the applicant should also be prepared to deal face-to-face with clients for sales and/or servicing.

This is a full-time position from early/mid-March until the end of October. From November, our shop closes for four months.

The starting hourly wage is 20 chf (approximately 15 GBP), but an experienced mechanic able to handle more responsibilities may make more.

Although a good wage, keep in mind that the cost of living in Switzerland is high. Many past mechanics have chosen to live over the border in France and commute.

Skills/Experience Required

In addition to the skills listed in the job description, successful applicants will be at least 25 years old.

Our shop caters to the upscale expatriate community in Geneva and so French is not required, but it would be a definite advantage.

Successful applicants must appear clean-cut and have a serious interest in road cycling themselves.

Interested candidates may inquire and/or send their CV to: info@bikeswitzerland.com

Should you become a candidate, we would ask you to do an interview using Skype, or interview in person with a UK colleague.

If offered a position, we would be happy to give you the email or telephone number of current and/or past employees to speak with.
