Job Description

The Role – Cycle Mentor (part-time, possibility leading to full-time)

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Cycle Mentor to join our growing team. This is a part-time hybrid role, with potential to become full-time. You’ll be delivering sessions in indoor and outdoor locations across Doncaster, helping to inspire, support, and educate people of all ages through cycling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support guided bike rides across the borough

  • Coach adults and children in basic and intermediate bike maintenance

  • Deliver fun, engaging cycling activities at children’s camps and community events

  • Promote cycling safety and active lifestyles

  • Build relationships with participants and act as a positive role model

  • Collaborate with other staff and volunteers

  • Support Yorkshire Bike Shack’s wider activities when needed

Skills/Experience Required

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven cycling proficiency and confidence riding in a range of settings

  • Experience with bike maintenance and repairs

  • Strong people skills – able to engage with children, young people and adults

  • Knowledge of cycling safety guidelines and road awareness

  • A self-starter who can work independently and as part of a team

  • Event delivery or community project experience (desirable)

  • Experience working with young people or community groups (desirable)

  • Full UK driving licence required

  • Knowledge of Doncaster area a strong advantage
