Job Description

About Us
On Your Bike is a small, community-focused bicycle recycling charity with workshops in Taunton and Bridgwater, serving the wider Somerset area. Founded in 2010, our mission is to provide affordable, recycled bicycles and high-quality servicing, while promoting cycling as a sustainable form of transport. We also deliver a range of outreach programmes including Maintenance Courses, Dr Bike sessions, and other community initiatives.

The Role
We’re seeking a motivated and experienced Workshop Supervisor to lead our Taunton workshop (with occasional work at our Bridgwater site). You’ll play a key role in overseeing daily operations, supporting staff and volunteers, and helping deliver our charitable mission.

Key Responsibilities
• Supervise the day-to-day running of a busy bike shop/workshop
• Lead, train and support staff, volunteers, and beneficiaries
• Maintain high standards of bicycle servicing and repairs
• Deliver community outreach events such as Dr Bike and maintenance sessions
• Ensure a safe, inclusive and positive working environment
• Assist with stock control and customer service where required

Benefits

  • Company pension
  • Staff discount on bicycles and accessories
  • Opportunity to work in a rewarding, community-driven environment

Location
Based primarily in Taunton, with occasional work at our Bridgwater store as needed.

Skills/Experience Required

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in bicycle mechanics (minimum 1 year required)
  • Qualified to Cytech or City & Guilds Level 2 (essential)
  • A strong leader with great interpersonal and mentoring skills
  • Organised, proactive, and passionate about giving back to the community
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with a range of people
