Cytech Technical One Theory is a distance learning course offering an introduction to bike maintenance which can be completed at home or work in your own time.

This course is based on the theory elements of the full Cytech One qualification.  It gives you an opportunity to gain Cytech training in a more flexible way.

Once you have completed Cytech One Theory you can easily upgrade to the full Cytech One qualification by completing a short practical assessment with either of our Cytech training providers.

Alternatively why not undertake the complete Cytech One course which combines theory and practical.

Cytech Theory One is available to members of the public and cycle shop employees.

What does this course include?

The Cytech One Theory distance learning course incorporates the following workshop skills and is managed and assessed by the Association of Cycle Traders direct:

  • Health & Safety
  • Workshop Practices
  • British Standards 6102:1 1992
  • Torque Wrenches
  • Lubricants and Greases
  • Pre-Delivery Inspection
  • Tyres & Tubes
  • Consumer Protection Act

You will receive a course folder incorporating full information on all the topics above and multiple choice questions on all the workshop skill areas above.

The course can be completed very quickly and certified within 6 weeks. However candidates have up to 6 months within which to complete the course and return it for marking. The distance learning format enables candidates to develop their skills whilst completing the accreditation.

Every candidate who passes the course receives a Cytech certificate of achievement.

Candidates who have passed the Theory Course are eligible to take a practical module enabling them to upgrade their accreditation to the full Cytech Technical One qualification, via our recognised training providers.
