For almost 100 years the Association of Cycle Traders has been the only national organisation leading the support, development and promotion of specialist independent cycle retailers.  

ACT is an independent non-profit making organisation representing the interests of over 1800 cycle shops. 

Our activities help ensure consumers can continue to benefit from the skills, services, enthusiasm and choice of products available from their local independent bike shop.  We also provide a wealth of business support and services to retailers.

Our work includes the development and promotion of Cytech - the cycle industry's only training and accreditation scheme - which aims to develop and promote the skills and services which are essential benefits local bike shops have to offer.

Whilst we represent the entire sector we are also a membership organisation with over 850 members benefitting from specialist information and services. It is our members which enable ACT to continue promoting and developing all local bikes shops to ensure a bright future for them and their customers.
